Marking the start of “sinkhole season” in Toronto, a car was eaten up by a huge one at a Black Creek Dr. and Eglinton Ave. W. parking lot on Wednesday morning. The driver, who didn’t have time to get out of his vehicle, a black Jaguar, before it sank deep into the dirt, was able to escape unharmed. “He got out through his window and climbed onto the roof of his car,” said Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins. Aikins had sent a crew out to the Todd Baylis Blvd. and Industry St. area to make sure the sinkhole was not caused by nearby construction of the Eglinton Crosstown. The crew was able to confirm the sinkhole was unrelated to the construction. Police are advising drivers to use caution in the area. SOURCE
