Berezniki, the russian city is sinking devoured by chasms! (video)

The city of Berezniki, in the heart of the Urals, is likely to disappear swallowed by the ground. As early as the '80s began to appear from nowhere huge craters in the ground that you are literally "eaten" factories and offices.

The atmosphere in some areas of this great industrial city of over 150 thousand inhabitants, built on a potash mine, it's spooky. The images of Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty tell you better than a thousand words.

Large cavities have shot down a school and gutted buildings, including palaces once home to the mining authority. "Nobody knows how deep these sinkholes. No one has measured," says Valery Mets, the Soviet Army in Afghanistan veteran and former miner Berezniki.
