Tornado in USA on Tuesday, 29 July, 2014 Denver


The 24/7 Weather team said at least two tornadoes touched down in the Denver metro area Monday causing only minor damage. The worst of the damage found so far occurred at a diesel repair shop at 51st and Havana streets in Denver. A shop door was ripped off by the twister and some of the shop lights were damaged. At Dick's Sporting Goods Park near Stapleton, several soccer nets were also tossed about in an area were one of the tornadoes was spotted. A tornado warning was issued for Adams and Denver counties at around 4 p.m., but has since expired. During the warning, at least one twister was spotted in the northeast portion of Aurora, which prompted Denver International Airport officials to order travelers there to seek shelter in concourses. Trained National Weather Service spotters reported that one tornado touched down at around 3:53 p.m. near Fort Lupton. Another tornado was spotted at around 4:09 p.m. in the southwest section of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, about 7 miles southwest of DIA in Adams County.
